Need help. Do not want dealer referral as they ask $20k over wholesale. Went to several MB dealer auctions. 2001 wholesale $56.7k, 2002 $63k. 2003(NON-LEMON) $72k. Saw dealer in Chicago just outbid me on 2001 blk/blk CL500 sport. Paid $57.5k and then listed it for $75k+ the next week. What a joke. I am not trying to steal these cars, just a fair price for both seller and myself. Any info appreciated. i would consider a lemonebuy back 2003 as they have dropped in price a ton. As you can see, i 2003 lemon buy back from MB id purched for liek $67k/

Edit: Just received new post sale dealer wholesale auction results and adjusted my wholesale values above. My numbers were from October, since then, the 2004's have all been released, further decreasing pricing on 2001-2003

****The 2003's listed are lemon buy backs, so they are much less than real wholesale. Below is a picture of the 4th car on the 2003 list trying to be resold on ebay. I offered the guy $70k, he said he paid 70k yada yada yada. So being the smart *** I am, I sent him the post sale results showing he really paid $67,500. Needless to say that didn't go over too well with him, he blocked further emails and designated my email "spam" Pretty funny

Thanks for info. The car in question I tried to get. I ran a carfax and found out it was a lemon buy back, that is why he is selling so cheap. Wholesale on that car is actually $63k for standard 2001 CL600 + $1800 because it has the sport package. Total real wholesale price is $64,800.00. Since it is a lemon buy back, it is worth even less.

Is there anything wrong with a lemon car that has been fixed, is it still protected under the Lemon law, does it still have a warrenty?

That story is so funny, I cant believe it.

 

Nothing at all wrong with lemon buyback, but, it is worth less. I would say the car in question is probably worth $58-59k wholesale instead of $65k. Don't quote me, but, anyone would rather buy a title that isn't brand versus one that is if pricing is equal.
