Up for sale is my 1999 Porsche 911 Carrera 996 with 36,000 original miles, black exterior/interior and 1 owner. The car has a clean Carfax/title with the following options:
XAA - Aerokit
XRB - 18" Sport Classic Wheels
688 - AM/FM Radio w/ CD Player
446 - Wheel Caps with Colored Crest
As you can see this is essentially a purist package 911 with barely any options to keep it as light as possible along with having the rare factory Aero Kit + 18" Sport Classic Wheels and the car being a 1999(cable throttle compared to the slightly more laggy e-throttle the cars after 00+ came with) makes this truly a gem. The car spent all 21 years of its life in Arizona and I bought the car 3 weeks go to Los Angeles from Arizona. Full disclosure: As soon as I purchased the car 3 weeks ago I was offered an Individual Monte Carlo Blue M3 that I have been chasing for a long time, I already have a Porsche GT4 in my garage and cannot fit the M3/911/GT4 so the 911 has to go. You would be the second registered owner on the title/carfax/history. The exterior of the car is in great shape for a 21 year old car(some slight rock chips) since the original owner garaged its whole life and I have done the same, the car shifts/drives amazing(the 36k miles is to thank for that).
Below are the maintenance records I have dug up from the previous owner and including what I have already spent money on/completed to sort the car. The car does have its original IMS but it is a 1999 model so it has the more durable dual row IMS and not the "weaker" 2000-2004 IMS found in most cars, I was planning on waiting until the car needed a clutch to do the IMS then(the car shifts perfect and has no issues).
Recent Maintenance Records:
34,138 2/13/2018
Porsche North Scottsdale performed oil/fiter change, window regulator change, checked systems
35,252 7/15/2020
Porsche North Scottsdale performed recommended maintenance, brake fluid flush, clutch slave cylinder replaced
35,900 8/26/2020
Oil change
36,000 8/28/2020
PDR to remove a few door dings
36,100 9/1/2020
New driver and passenger floor mats
36,100
9/3/2020
New crankshaft sensor
This is what I was planning to do to the car if I was going to keep it and make it better so this is my list of negatives about the car:
-It is a black car and could use a nice polish/wax/coating which I was planning on doing next
-I would refinish the sport classic wheels since they are 21 years old and a few spots are showing their age or purchase other wheels then store these original ones.
-There is a little bit of wear on the driver bolster(original owner was a bigger gentleman) that I would fix to make it perfect(was quoted $150 by a Porsche upholstery shop).
Other than those things I have listed above, I was not planning on doing anything else to the car than the recommended maintenance or preventative maintenance. When I brought the car into Los Angeles, I asked a few 996 owners to drive the car and everyone communicated with how amazing it drove/felt from the steering feel, suspension, shifting, etc. This is truly a car you can pickup and be the second owner/enjoy for years to come with the very rare enthusiast 1999 factory aero kit spec.
