I have no relation to this car or seller, but feel that DME reports are often misunderstood and also can be inaccurate.

I have serious doubts as to the legitimacy of any of the range 4, 5, and 6 over revs.
-There are documented cases of electrical glitches causing over revs to be recorded.
-It is not physically possible for over revs to increase as the rev ranges increase as this report shows. The over-rev counts should decrease as the ranges increase, as you have to pass through all the lower ranges to reach the uppers, then pass through the lowers again on the way back down. I guess it *technically* is *possible* to have over-revs increase as the ranges increase as this report shows, but in order for that to happen, electrical power would have to be cut while the engine is at the elevated rev range.

Even if you believe this DME report, at worst the engine spent
0.03s in range 3
0.15s in range 4
0.21s in range 5
0.33s in range 6
Again, I don't think this actually happened, but even if it did, it was *425 engine hours ago*. Problems from a money shift are going to expose themselves immediately. If the engine is smooth and strong currently, I would have no concerns about what *might* have happened for 0.7s over 400 engine hours ago.

This is of course just my opinion, and it's worth exactly what you paid for it 🙂

caymanR is infamous around these parts
Thank you vman for that explanation. I also thought the number of revs should increase as they fell, but that report shows it backwards. It has to be exceeding range 4 & 5 if it is in range 6, right? Total duration of the level 6 rev was less than 0.4 seconds, if it actually occurred.
Any over-rev would have occurred prior to my ownership (since 2015) and it has not affected my enjoyment of this car. I also have a clean Blackstone oil analysis if that helps.
Here is a link to an explanation of DME reports: https://911virgin.com/engine-revs/

Curious about your thoughts on why you are not also try listing on aforementioned auction site that seems to be getting higher prices than your asking?

That may happen soon.

Buyers from an auction website will typically pay thousands in auction fees (for a car in this price range) which aren’t required from this site. The reserve is the reserve on either site, so the buyer ends up paying more to a 3rd party simply for hosting the ad. Save money by making a reasonable offer here.
