ok i just ran a search on google. they generally last for 6 to 12 years.

the most important thing is that it is pressurized. good thing that there is a gauge on the safecraft extinguishers. Just did a check and It says it is 200psi which is right at the median greenzone. red zones on the gauge (which signals a fault) are anything that is under 100psi or higher than 300psi.

Sorry guys –

Previously I forgot to include the cost of the billet bracket. Total cost for a new safecraft kit is $555+tax and shipping. The breakdown is as follows-

$320+tax for the extinguisher
$120+tax for the stainless steel billet bracket
$115+tax for the 996 seat mount
------------------------------------------------
$555+tax total cost.

The links are below.
http://www.safecraft.com/product_page_detail.asp?ProductID=49&ProductCatID= 1&ProductSubCatID=11&menu=&Search=
http://www.safecraft.com/product_page_detail.asp?ProductID=134&ProductCatID =1&ProductSubCatID=9&menu=&Search=
http://www.safecraft.com/product_page_detail.asp?ProductID=124&ProductCatID =1&ProductSubCatID=12&menu=&Search=

In addition, I checked with the dealership and they said it will cost me 1 hour of labor to remove and uninstall the extinguisher. At Manhattan Motor Cars, this translates to $175 per hour.

I will still hold the $300 price true but if someone will split the cost of removing the extinguisher 50/50 that would be great. The new adjusted price including labor to uninstall will be $387.5. This is still a good value as a new extinguisher kit costs $555.

What are your thoughts? I will scan the receipt of labor if someone wants to see it.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I always understood it as removing the seat in a PCar was 4 bolts and 5 minutes......might want to check into that...doesn't it just use the seat mount?

You might be right... I challenged them on pricing as well, but thats what they like to charge. . Blame it on the Manhattan dealership pricing… anyways like I said, I will show the receipt. My intention isn’t to make money but I cannot lose $175 to the dealer prior to even selling…

Also, if anyone is a good handy man and want to do it for me. You’re welcomed to do so.
