I looked at the navigation DVD in the trunk and the date is 10.2004. Is what you have just the update for the maps, or does it also update the PCM? PM me if you like.

i have a cayenne from 2004 the curent dvd nav map is 04/2005 europe....i have the new 2007 dvd but doesnt work please help me some haw because the porsche romania dealer can't....my email is artenie_ionut@yahoo.com

The updating of the pcm 2.1 from level A to level B gives navigation search improvements (updated/more streets, updated/more POI's, etc etc), along with some bug fixes in the Bose amp and telephone modules. The BOSE amplifier is updated to the latest generation of software as well. You can only use the 2006+ map DVD's on PCM 2.1 units that have level B software , the earlier units that have level A and have not been updated will not recognize the disk (DVD). The navigation system is also software updated by the map DVD itself.

I have a 997 GT3 my07 with 05.2006 DVD Europe.
I would like to buy the 05.2007 version. Is it compatible with my navigation unit or do i have to make a system upgrade?

I have the firmware CD upgrade. However, if you have the 2006 version that youre using right now...you should be fine with 2006+ version discs.

Anyone who is currently on a 2004 or 2005 year version disc would need to upgrade their firmware to use 2006 and above DVDs.

Sorry, you are looking for the pre 2005 model year CD's and not single DVD. I have the DVD, not the CD's are you are looking for.
