Larry, I came close to buying these seats. They do look great but finally decided that I wanted 6pt capability and additionally, my local dealer told me they would throw a cel in my 996tt due to lack of thorax airbag connectivity. Hope you can get this worked out. I think your request is very reasonable since you were not informed of the seat belt issue. Best of luck!

 

I bought the other set that was here in 6speed, and I just finished mounting them on my 996tt. Everything works great. Pretty much bolt on except for the connectors. The seat belts buckles from the stock 996 seats just transfers into the 997 seats.

 

There was a misunderstanding about what part was needed. The mounting bracket was unnecessarily removed from one seat and installed on my seat. It will be removed and shipped first thing Monday.

My email responses have all been same day. When I thought the part was lost, I offerred to buy the $300 entire seatbase.

Larry, I'm sorry for the confusion and delay. 6speed, I'm sorry this became a public issue.

Riverflyer, since there is no seat airbag in the 996TT, I don't believe that the disconnected airbag can send a signal to a nonexistent wire, therefore no warning light.

 

thanks for the info. I was trusting the dealer to know about how the 997 seats would react, not wanting to deal with shipping across the country and having problems. Very glad to hear they worked out and glad Omaha gt stepped up and resolved the problem.
