I assume this fits the 996.,is there a short shift version for the 997 or do most go with this oem 997 shifter?

I believe most people go with the 997 Shifter rather than the 997 Short Shifter for two practical reasons: (1) cost is much lower and (2) not much appreciable difference in that the 997 is a great shifter to begin with with relatively short throws.

 

..put this in my 996. whoever gets this will be happy, good price too! saved 1" in total front to back throw. less slop. someone jump on this!
