Since I am finally getting around to selling my 996tt, I am putting my durametric cable up for sale. This is the enthusiast version that sells for $287 + shipping and tax. I am selling it for $200 shipped anywhere in the continental US.

It has only been used on 1 VIN, so there are 2 more VINs available. Beware if you purchase a durametric cable from someone else, since the enthusiast package only allows for 3 vins to be used.

I purchased this cable in 2009, so this is the newer 2nd generation cable. The cable will ship with the hard case that came with it. Software is down loadable free on the durametric site.

I could be interested in this...for a car that is not really modded what can this help to check? I am assuming you plug into the OBD2 port and run it to a laptop and it runs a diagnostics of sorts? please advise...

I didn't realize there was a limit on VINS. I've had mine for a few years and it came with two cables, including the second one for pre OBD2 cars. Maybe they didn't differentiate when I bought mine.

Directly from:
http://www.durametric.com/default.aspx

Or one of their resellers, FVD.us is a sponsor here that also sells the setup. The enthusiast version lacks some capabilities from the Pro version (e.g., re-coding certain functions like lock doors at certain speed, disabling airbag light, etc.).... So, it's more than just # of cars you can use the tool on..... thus, you'll want to compare features of the two before deciding which to buy.
