I finally got the new style seat (which I ordered in 2009). It's a little tight for our daughter (she's very tall like her dad). It's a nice seat with recline, and 5 point harness.

It's $619 full MSRP. Suncoast sells them for around $560 I believe, but the real issue is availability as you likely know. I installed it and removed it two weeks later. Looks brand new.

PM me if your interested. It's on ebay as well.

Cheers

Still available?

Do you still have the Porsche Junior car seat available? I am looking for the Porsche Junior, Junior Plus or Kid Plus car seat. Or -- if anyone has the buckle to insert into the deactivation bar, I would be very interested in purchasing that separately, if needed.

Thanks,
Brooke Ward

Hi Brooke,

I let the new junior seat go on ebay for less than 1/2 what I was asking...

It's been listed a while, and I just wanted to move it. I have a prior generation junior seat (the light grey one that uses either the safety table or the car's seatbelt to restrain the child - unlike the seat I just sold which had a 5 point harness). There is a deactivation kit for use in the front seat. It must be dealer installed and I believe the kit is @ $120.00. Also, if its a 911 front seat, the dealer can install the latch anchors in the fold of the seat (huge plus!). I so wish they would put them in the rear seats as well.

I'm in CT. Shipping is probably @ $50.00. Let me know if you're interested.

Regards,
David R. Peck

My lease is up soon. If you're interested I'll sell it for $100.00

Thank you so much. I will most definitely purchase if it has the buckle attached to the seat that inserts into the deactivation bar (already installed on the Boxster we just purchased). The airbag deactivation bar has the "female" end of a seat belt-type connector. From what I can tell, it looks like the older models of the deactivation bars have this type of mechanism. The Porsche car seats had the "male" end of the seat belt buckle attached and when installed in the car you can buckle to car seat to the deactivation bar and then the airbag will be deactivated.

Sorry for the explanation. But I am writing with great hope that your seat has this older style buckle-type attachment?

Thank you again for your quick reply.

It does have that buckle (which isn't used in the rear 911 install).

Its the red belt in the picture below (not my seat pictured BTW, but identical to it)

The deactivation kit will anchor the front of the seat and deactivate the airbag. But, I would definitely still ask about the anchors/hook retrofit at your dealer. I'm certain they offer it for 911 front seat, why not boxster as well... The alternative to latch is to use only the vehicle seat belt, which while still safe isn't quite as sturdy or easy to use.

If you're interested, you can purchase through PayPal. Send me your full shipping address and I'll get a firm quote.

Regards,
David R. Peck, Esq.

Thank you very much. Here is my address:

Brooke Ward
224 Village Commons Blvd
Georgetown, Texas 78633

Please let me know the details and I will pay through PayPal.

I will definitely look into retrofitting the LATCH system. Thank you for the information. I know the buckle is to deactivate and certainly doesn't look like it would provide any additional help securing the seat to the car. Our three year old is just hitting the height and weight for the shoulder belt, but he will be in a 5-point harness in all the other cars for as long as I can find seats that fit him!

Thanks again,
Brooke
