Porsche 996/997 Tequipment Rollbar w/Camera Mount

Category: Interior
Price: $650
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits: Porsche 911 997 Turbo, Porsche 911 997 Non-Turbo, Porsche 911 996 Turbo, Porsche 911 996 Non-Turbo
Location (State): NH
Item Condition: Used
Shipping Information: Item can be shipped

I'm thinking about upgrading my car to a newer Carrera so I'm removing my Tequipment rollbar w/ I/O Port camera mount. The bar should fit 996 and 997s that aren't cabriolets. I have the factory bolts which I didnt use, instead I went with Grade 8 bolts since that seems to be what everyone recommends doing. All the porsche hardware is included which if you went to the dealership to buy separately your looking at about $150. The I/O Port camera mount I'm throwing in with it was $109. Wasn't bad to install and I did it in one evening. I'm asking for $650 and buyer pays shipping. Prefer local pickup in the northeast though.

Craig

Great price! I just got one or I'd jump on this...

To the OP: where did you buy the grade 8 bolts? Did you trim the interior plastic when you installed?

Malakas, I just went to Ace Hardware with the factory bolts. The factory bolts are special in that they have a metric head (17mm I think) but the thread is SAE. The bolts I think I are made from stainless as well. From what i've read, people say to switch to grade 8 bolts, 1 because they are cheaper ($3 vs. $20 a piece), and they are stronger. You just have to remember they aren't metric when you go for a wrench.
I did pull up the carpet and trim the plastic with a dremel. Some people have done it without trimming, but I just followed the porsche directions which said to trim it.
