Semantics. You are correct. It doesn't jam anything rather than 'shift' the beam. And no one is claiming this is a foolproof countermeasure. Sure, if the officer is accurate and knows where to sight, LI or any other device will not be effective. But officers are trained to target the most retro reflective areas of the car, i.e. front plate or lights. With properly installed diodes, I'd bet most, if not all, 'attacks' would be diverted. I'd venture to guess less than one in a few hundred cars they encounter have laser countermeasures installed. So, why would they target anything but the most reflective areas of the car? Answer: they wouldn't.
As for trying to talk your way out of a ticket, I've always been nothing but polite and have always had a 'reasonable' excuse. And no, they never care. After my last encounter, I purchased the LI a week later (for the parking assist feature, of course).

I have to agree....and I am 3 to Nothing for the LEO's. The LI works.
I am polite as well. Very rarely am i let off......my wife on the other hand.....
LOL
Again I'm not here to lead anyone astray, but I do know what I'm talking about. There may be products that obscure reflective areas on your vehicle but that will not "jam" or hinder a correct reading if the target vehicle is properly sighted. I am a professional at target aquisition

. I have also instructed in radar and lidar certification. I just want to set the facts straight as to the actual performance of the advertised item.
The LEO (that is using a quality Lidar unit) that cannot get proper target lock is not skilled with the unit.
From experience I'll tell you the best way to get out of a ticket is to be up front and polite during the stop. If you politely state a reasonable excuse as to why you may have been going over the posted limit, you might just get off with a verbal or written warning. If you follow this simple step and still get cited, you may have been stopped by one of the few officers that don't give a crap why you were speeding.

You should keep teaching the certification. Whatever you are teaching them is allowing my LI to work effectively!!!!!

Regardless, I'll take my chances with the LI.
I have a Valentine One and I like it. I have a friend who has an Escort Passport 9500ix in his Turbo Cab he likes it also. It has a GPS that locates cameras, The V1 does not. They are both detectors.
The Escort Passport 9500ci has a laser shifter. See www.escortradar.com.
The Laser Interceptor isn't for radar It is a laser jammer. You can Google it for more info than I can provide here or go directly to www.Laser-interceptorusa.com.
Thanks for looking!

Bars of boost- You are very incorrect with what you have posted. The laser interceptor is highly regarded as the best jammer on the market.
Rotor- Good price on a great product. Good luck with your sale.

You seem to be confusing the laser detector with the jamming- a jammer initially detects the initial burst of incoming light (laser) and immediately sends shifted pulses back to you (the officer or gun) so the gun never gets an lock. They use multiple high intensity laser diode emitters.
While you are TAUGHT (and apparently you are passing on this as fact) that the light is immediately reflected, you don't know how the guns work. There is an initial period of several bursts over 10-30 milliseconds that is needed to lock on and measure the speed- the LI acts within that window.
Actually,,,damn it... I shouldn't be explaining this to you...we want you guys thinking lidar is infallible. Shoot, my bad

I know I may have offended some and that was not my intention. Here's proof that a vehicle equiped with the latest jamming technology may still be tracked and have the speed verified. "Just sayin"
