Just got a CEL light warning on my week old 996t and the Porsche dealer can't see me for couple of days. Would love to know what Im getting myself into here.

I don't plan on doing any work on the car but don't like to be blind either.

Anyone have a durametric cable they would like to sell? I don't need more than one VIN open.

Take it to Advance Auto Parts or something, they'll lend you the scanner to read it/clear it for free. Or you could pick up a cheap ODBII scanner for like $30-$40.

 

+1. You should have a general purpose ODBII reader handy anyways it is a great tool help yourself and friends.
