I had this unit installed on my 2007 997 (w/ navigation). The unit worked flawlessly. I removed it when I traded my car in 2 weeks ago.

I believe Suncoast sells a similar unit for ~$650.

If you have navigation, you will need to buy the dual antenna. If you don't have navigation, I believe the antenna (OEM) I have will work -- I will include this as well. Actually, I believe you can run two separate antennas (each installed under the wiper cowl), so even if you have navigation, the antenna I have can be installed next to it.

I took many pictures during the install and will provide these as well. Overall, the install was very easy and involves no wire splicing, etc.
