One piece forged wheels are simply lighter and stronger then their multi-piece counterparts, which is why all Champion Motorsport wheels feature a monoblock forged construction. The RG5B is our "best of both worlds" wheel. It has the uncompromising strength and lightness that has become the benchmark of our entire wheel line, but it also has a little something to please those who are looking for that cosmetic appeal of a multi-piece wheel. Specifically, the RG5 essentially shares the spoke design of the RG5, but includes 24 titanium bolts, giving it the appearance of a multi-piece wheel, without the added weight. Like all Champion Motorsport wheels, the RG5B is made from a single piece of A6061 aluminum, heat treated to T6 standards, and forged in an 8000 pound press. The end result is an extremely light wheel, ranging from 19 to 26 pounds, depending on diameter and width. This process also produces one of the strongest wheels on the market, with a maximum yield strength of 40,000 pounds per square inch, something that is simply impossible to achieve with a multi-piece design.
