Category: Wheels & Tires
Price: $1600
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits: Porsche 911 997 Non-Turbo
Location (State): CA
Item Condition: Used

The C4S is a wide body car, so the rear offsets are less than a narrow body 997.1 which has 67mm offset. These rear wheels will stick out further as if the narrow body normal 67mm wheels had a 17mm spacer behind them. These rims are also 1/2" wider than standard narrow body rims, moving the edge of each rim another 1/4" towards the edge of fender opening. These should be advertised as being for wide body cars. By saying they are for non-Turbo cars incorrectly implies they are narrow body wheels.

It would have been helpful if the original ad stated that the wheels were for a wide body 997, not just 997. And by saying 997 non-Turbo in the ad, it was logical to assume the wheels were for a narrow body 997.

Next time I sell something I will consult you first to make sure my wording is correct. Or you could just ask if they are from a wide body based on the offset rather than posting two different times showing how apparently I was trying to mislead someone.

I didn't mean to suggest you were trying to mislead anyone, but wanted to point out that missing important details can be misleading or confusing for buyers.

What I hoped you and other wheel sellers would take away from this is the need to be careful that you describe your product accurately so buyers know what type/model of car it is for. Saying that wheels fit a 997 is only half the info needed by a prospective buyer. The other half is whether it is a wide body 997 or narrow body 997. To your credit, you did provide the offset information, which many sellers don't do. Unfortunately, many buyers don't understand offsets, so they rely upon what model car they fit. By telling them clearly up front, it is a lot simpler for everyone.

Good luck with your sale. I had those wheels on my Targa 4S a few years ago, and think they are the best looking factory wheels that were offered on the 997.1 cars.
