Selling a used Fabspeed Carbon Fiber Dual Cone intake with the latest dry (non-oiled) filter material that is washable and reusable. There are no worries about over-oiling and damage to the MAF sensor. The sale includes both the original throttle-body attachment hose and a slightly longer high-quality HPS hose that I used along with the necessary clamps and screws.

Fits 997.2 C2, C2S, C4, C4S only.

This item retails for $695, I'm going to start by asking $480 (I'll drop the price occasionally until it sells). Payment via Paypal only (which also provides the buyer with protection, not that it is needed).

I'll cover shipping by UPS Ground within the continental U.S. I do not like doing Customs paperwork, so I'd prefer to avoid that and stay within the U.S. unless you make it worth my while. If you want it faster or somewhere that significantly exceeds $20 in shipping, I'll ask you to pay the difference over $20.

While Fabspeed publishes some power gains (see the link to their site below), the best thing I like about it is the sound it makes at WOT (wide-open-throttle), especially at high RPMs and during high-RPM shifts. Very racy sounding! You have to hear it first hand to appreciate this, I've never found a recording that does it justice.

The parts are in very good condition. The only notable wear spot is on the top left of the main tube in the very center of the second attached picture. When I first mounted the intake I accidentally had it pitched slightly upward when I tightened the clamps and the carbon fiber housing rubbed against the fan housing for many miles and created a quarter-inch sized wear spot on the clear epoxy. The intake itself was not compromised, the wear is purely cosmetic.

There was also minor wear on the top edge of the MAF mount shown in the same picture just below the leftmost MAF mounting screw which also came from the fan shroud rubbing. While I was able to fix the rubbing problems with the standard hose by loosening the clamp and pushing the tube and filters down and back just a tad, I was worried about it and went ahead and bought the high-quality HPS hose to allow me to move the whole assembly slightly farther backward, maybe about half an inch to guarantee that no more rubbing occurred. The third picture shows the only significant marks (four fork-like scrapes) on the heat shield, but that is something I never noticed when it is mounted in the car. (There is a bright light reflected in the photo, but it was the only way I could get the marks to show up).

Replacement of the original air box with the Fabspeed assembly should take less than an hour and requires a Torx wrench for the original air box screws, an allen wrench for the new MAF hold-down screws (included), a 7mm socket for the hose clamps, and a 13mm socket for the two bolts that hold the heat shield in place. Be careful not to over-tighten the hose clamps, but be sure they are firm enough to hold the assembly firmly in place.

Here is a link to Fabspeed's description for this item: http://www.fabspeed.com/porsche-997-...intake-system/ and a photo of what it looks like in a car.
