FVD Sports Clutch Kit with LWFW

Category: Accessories
Price: $1975
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits: Porsche 911 997 Turbo
Location (State): CA
Item Condition: Used

Considering selling FVD sports clutch kit with LWFW. Bought this three weeks ago and have just installed with less than 200 miles of road use. Clutch is great but the chatter is just driving me nuts. I should have just went with the dual mass, as I have no plans to mod. I paid $2475 shipped three weeks ago and will sell for $1975 shipped, save hundreds on new clutch. I will offer full refund if you receive the clutch and are not completely satisfied with its condition (minus shipping) within 7 days. I have no pictures of the actual parts as they are still installed on my car. Please view this link to FVD's website for details. Thanks.

Actual item photos are required...stock or Internet photos do not meet the requirement....I would caution any member considering purchase of an item where the seller is unable to post actual item photos

The chatter my friend is what I am worried about myself! I just sold my Sharkwerks clutch that works with the stock dual mass and I bought it because I loved driving that car with no chatter. My car already had EVOMS underdrive and LW pullies that help made the car rev more freely, so AT THE TIME I opted for the stock flywheel,

BUT

I had a UMW set up with a LWFW and sometimes it was a little too much for me, but man the off set with quick revving motor ....it actually made the motor feel so exotic, instead of a run of the mill grocery getter production car. You go to heel and toe and you had to really press down on the gas and the slow response was so unacceptable for a car of this pedigree....I just couldn't wrap my head around it!!! That is why I did the LWFW and loved it, BUT I NEVER DAILY DRIVED MY CAR and that is where I can see it day in day out getting on your nerves (I found it only got to an unacceptable level with the clutch out and A/C on). I will say since I only drive my car for pleasure, IT MUST HAVE THAT SPECIAL/ EXOTIC FEEL that the LWFW gives to the powertrain, lightning quick throttle response like a race motor....if you are not daily driving your car I think like a good tuned sounding exhaust this is a must to finish what Porsche should have done from the beginning!!

I picked up a ERP triple WITH A LWFW , so you know which side of the brain I think with concerning my 911! Supposedly the ERP has less chatter, but either way if you are not so sensitive to the noise and bought your 911 for the overall excitement / exotic experience (and do not daily the car) you would not regret this set up!

Thanks

Bobby Ali

Bobby,
It's not an easy decision to make.. The engine does seem to rev a bit quicker and knowing I've got a stronger clutch that should be able to handle more power in the future is nice as well.. However, it most definitely takes some getting used to the chatter.. Driving under load there is no extra noise at all, just at idle and as you stated even more pronounced with ac on.. I guess a little extra chatter is alright, not like this engine is very quiet anyway.. If I get a fair offer I'll make the change, if not then I keep it..

I also understand our motors make enough noise aready and are not known to be "smooth" or "refined" by any stretch of the imagination!! Hence adding more in cabin noise I can see and respect where you are coming from.

If I needed a clutch this would be the set up I wouldn't regret.
