Talking Porsche 991 Arkym carbon fiber rear diffusor

Category: Accessories
Price: $650
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing

Up for sale is a rare Arkym carbon fiber rear diffusor. It is made for a Porsche Carrera 991 model. It attaches to the factory diffusor using the two mount bolts underneath and double stick tape along the top. No holes need to be drilled into the car. It was fitted to my 2014 Porsche Carrera C2 but may fit other 991 models. Original cost was $1300!

Andy, figured you would be posting this... although you posting to all of my threads including ones not related to a classified ad seems excessive.

We have talked this over multiple times. You arranged for shipping and sent me a prepaid label to use. In this case Fedex crushed the box during shipment. The packaging was fine and protection was more than what the manufacturer used when it was originally shipped to me. I added extra protection with cardboard to protect the ends and wrapped it completely in bubble wrap before putting it in the box. I then added additional bubble wrap in the box to minimize shifting and put FRAGILE stickers on the box. The "second box" was only used as a cap. The extra protection I used made the part a little longer 2-3" so the original box flaps would not fold flat perfectly. Rather than tape it that way my shipping department recommended to leave the flaps open and then use another form fitted box to cap off that end. Industrial packaging tape when then used to attach it. This meant that on the one end we were actually reinforcing the package with double walled cardboard layers. This was much better than just cramming it in to the original box.

The damage you see is from the box being crushed with excessive force toward the middle of the box, not on the end where the "cap" was added so that second box had no effect on the results of what Fedex did. I also explained to in order to break carbon fiber a lot of pressure had to be exerted, further proof Fedex really blew it on this by mishandling.

Furthermore, I am not happy that you did not note the external damage of the package upon receipt. I sent you the terms and conditions from the Fedex site that clearly states all visible damage to shipments must be noted upon receipt. Why did you not do this? I myself if seeing a package delivered that way would either refuse shipment or inspect it immediately before signing for delivery.

One more thing, I asked multiple times for pictures of the damage for the part and this is the first time even seeing it. Now that I have it clearly shows excessive force being applied to the part during shipment. I know your mad, but as I stated to you before you need to escalate this with Fedex and not me. Since you had me use your prepaid label I have no control or influence on this situation since I was removed as shipper.

Sorry this happened... but calling me out as a poor seller when I did everything possible to get you the part safely doesn't come across as reasonable.

Attached are pictures I sent you of the extra protection I used for part prior to shipping it. Also are the pics you sent of the packaging that is clearly damaged and crushed, not falling apart due to improper packaging. Hope you are able to find resolution with Fedex, they really need to take care of this for you. Regards,

P.S. Admins, I don't think it would be a good idea to add this reply and cluttering the forums for all of the threads Andy copied to, is there a way to remove them and keep this on topic to this thread on the part sent? Please contact me if you think that I am not handling this in a sufficient way.

David
