I have available a super-rare, hard to find RUF black leather and engraved aluminum shift **** for Porsche cars with the 6-speed manual transmission, including the 986, 987, 996, & 997 - all variants. This is a brand new shift **** that I pre-ordered and picked up from the RUF factory in Pfaffenhausen, Germany during a recent trip to Munich. I bought 1 for my RUF R-Kompressor and 2 additional for some friends that have been looking to get one of these for over a year. One of my friends decided not to take his so I have 1 unspoken for. DOES NOT INCLUDE THE SHIFT BOOT - YOU HAVE TO REUSE YOUR CURRENT ONE WITH THIS **** !

For the 997 at least, the mounting of the shift boot to the **** does not use the OEM plastic ring and twist retainer, but the hole in your existing shift boot is the proper diameter to fit this RUF ****. What I did was slip the boot onto the **** and then secure it with a wire tie above the welded on flanges at the base of the shift ****, and it works perfectly (see last photo). The **** comes with a retainer screw to secure it onto the gearshift lever and the OEM boot that you transfer over clips right back into the retainers for a perfect fit. Installation is 10-15 minutes including the time to remove your current **** and separate the boot from it.

Your shift **** and steering wheel are things you touch and use every time you drive your car and this shifter feels great in the hand and is anatomically correct. In one of the photos you'll notice the RUF logo is painted black - I painted that one and installed it in my car - the one in this auction is in the factory RUF finish with the shift pattern and RUF logo engraved directly into the aluminum.
