This ad is for Max Speed Muffler Bypass pipes for the 997.1. These were installed on my 2008 Carrera S and will fit any Carrera S (997.1 model years 2005 through 2008). These retail for $199 and I am selling for $120. These produce a great "super-cup" car sound. I have sold my Carrera S so I have no need for these anymore.

This is a very easy install. No need to remove the rear bumper. About 30 minutes per side. Here is how it works. You unbolt the clamps on your Carrera S tips and sit those to the side. Then you loosen the clamp that connects the mufflers to the catalytic converter. You then reach up to the muffler mounting plates and remove three nuts. At this point the muffler can ve lifted down. There is a support bar that runs from the edge of the rear wheel well opening up to the chassis. I just removed the bolt on each side of that which then allowed clearance to pull the mufflers down and you can slide them out at an angle. Now that the muffler is removed you just place the bypass pipe into the clamp where that connects to the catalytic converter outlet and then slip the Carrera S tips on the other end and finally tighten that clamp. Side 1 is done and side 2 is the exact same process. This will reduce about 40 lbs off your car as the stock mufflers are heavy. Overall I felt like this was a very easy mod. If you go to the Fabspeed site you will see that they charge $500 for their bypass pipes. These pipes based on their ratings will produce 21 additional HP and torque. You will feel the increase on the upper portion of the rpm band. Additionally, it really wakes up the sound of the exhaust system. In instances where you are cruising through your neighborhood at night etc. if you are easy on the throttle it is just slightly louder than stock. However, when you stomp the gas pedal it does give a true super cup style sound.
