1/2 Mile events are popping up all over the country and are becoming very popular. There have been numerous requests over the past several years to add a 1/2 mile list to our already existing performance archive thread in the 996TT section of the forum. Given that this is a new list that I started we will accept VBox run files that will have to verified and converted to Texas Mile style trap speed for this list, we will also accept speed slips with media proof from events ( picture or video of the car). VBox has proven itself to very accurate and is probably more accurate than 90% of the timing equipment used at the events.

1400hp only ran 182mph?

yep there is a video of it, maybe traction issues or bad driving.


you need AT LEAST one of the following
- event speed slip or certificate AND picture of your car with race number matching slip
- a video showing your car and speed clearly
- a vbox DBN for me to verify


I thought you already have some pretty fast half mile passes from before?


Also I added additional detail to the 1/2 mile list so that it's more informational and so that someone can look at speeds that are relative to them. For example a full bolt on 991 daily driver or a 1500hp sequential race car.


I also put a few hyper car MPH slips in there to give guys an idea where they stand in the real world vs some $1-2M cars.

Yes I do but I only have the videos and time slip. I never used a vbox. This may should be pretty fast. It's tough up there though with high elevation think air.

 

video and slip is good. send it in.


vbox is pretty simple you just plug it in and do a pull then pull the file off the SD card and send it in.

 

Not that I have this or have a place to do it, but in case the question comes up in the future, what if VBox 1/2 mile is available, but it isn't from a sanctioned event? Probably not the safest thing to do either, but I'm sure people do it

 

Yeah I use the vbox just never used it at the runway event. I'll have a video and mph reading

 

what is your best 1/2 mile so far?

 

159mph on 17psi at high elevation ran out of fuel.

Now will be at 30psi in may but might switch turbos to the 3082 xonas.

The last Shift-S3ctor 1/2 mile event I was at didn't even print time slips. You just got an email from them after every run with the times. For the video verification can you have a lap timer with GPS speed overlay or is that not accurate?
