how big of a spacer do they need?

 

Most people run a 3/4" spacer. Simply patterned from the existing woofers. There's plenty of room behind the speakers, but you want a seal to the door.

 

Plug and play power wise with all other components stock or do you need anything else (outside of spacers) to work like factory? I know Bose runs less power and probably has some sort of crossovers built in so curious how these "play" with the other components...

 

Much clearer and cleaner than the bloated bass of the Bose system. The signal from the Bose amp is effectively post crossover. The Bose tweeters have high pass filters, very similar to what you will find in aftermarket tweeters. The woofers don't need anything else, just connect them. If course Amy system will sound the best with a fully matched speaker set.
