Smart Strings 4 Wheel Toe Alignment Tool

Used on my Porsche 996 Turbo a handful of times. Makes it very easy to get an accurate toe setting in your own garage or at the track.

I bought this thinking that I'd eventually track my car and have used it throughout my "build" process after a variety of suspension upgrades (coilovers, ride height adjustment/corner balance, adjustable arms, etc.). Now that my modifications are done and it looks unlikely that I'll be a serious track rat, I'm selling it.

I used it this weekend following a corner balance that I've been meaning to do since my shocks were rebuilt earlier this year. Found my toe was off (slight outward toe in the rear and front) and cured some "twitchy" steering that would have been great for DE, but not fun on the street at interstate speeds (or more).

Based on my own research, I found the "string method" is the only way to get a true 4 wheel alignment at home or at the track. You can use a tool like this or one of the much more expensive laser tools. Toe plates only do a 2 wheel alignment and can leave you with a car the moves down the road with the longitudinal axis of the car skewed from the direction of travel (we've all seen cars that look like they're moving slightly sideways, rear wheels offset from the front wheels, due to a 2 wheel only alignment). ;-)

You'll find these new for about $500 shipped (without a storage case). I'll sell my lightly used one for $345. I can also deliver to anyone in the Omaha or Kansas City area.

When I bought mine a few years ago, there was no storage case available. So, I don't have one (since it has little value unless you're routinely hauling it to the track). You can buy one from Smart Strings directly for about $100 (with shipping).
