Feeler: 9ff variotune I exhaust for 996TT

In 2 weeks I will be going to a different turbocharger and exhaust setup (custom) so I will be selling my 9ff Variotune exhaust (single canister I). It is an amazing exhaust system. The trick thing is that it has muffler bypass valves on each side, after the cats. This accomplishes several things: it is legal for emissions, can be as quiet as stock when you need it to be, and loud and free flowing whenever you want.

The stainless steel valves are opened and closed with an actuator similar to the wastegate actuator of a turbocharger. A switch controls a solenoid which allows vacuum to the actuator. I put the switch in my center console but it can go anywhere you want. When closed it is quiet without drone, perfect for extended drives or going through a quiet neighborhood. When open...well, it sounds and performs the way an uncorked turbocharged flat 6 should! It is truly the best of both worlds.

The materials are top notch. I have never seen better welding, even on space shuttle engines. New it was $7400...looking to get half that. It has about 4000 miles on it, is in excellent condition and perfect working order. I will try to take some pics this weekend. It should be available in approximately 2 weeks.

Can you get some detailed pics to me? You have my email address in your PM box. Thanks

By the way, why are you selling? Is this for more mild tuned cars? How big is the piping?

Sure. I will send pics as soon as I take them.

I am about to change a lot of things including the turbos and exhaust (let's just say that it is not an off the shelf kit). As for "mild tuned cars," that is a pretty subjective phrase. The muffler bypass is where it will have performance gains. Turbo spoolup definitely improves as does overall power. I do not have any dyno numbers. They are pretty rare/expensive...I don't know of anyone who has done a dyno comparison to stock.

I rode in this car three weeks ago to see if I wanted to trade my Fabspeed INSANE LOUD exhaust for a 9ff valvetronic.

Guys, if you drive your car every day, have family, or even want your neighbors to like you.......THIS is the way to go. With a touch of the switch you can go from mild to wild as the valve opens up for the bypass.

I was so impressed I ordered a new one prior to Chris deciding to put his up for sale........D'oh

So jump on this while you can.......and keep the wifey happy

I've got the same 9ff exhaust and its amazing. Great sound, quality, and power. The switch feature is really handy as well. The only downside is the high price (brand new). I bought mine slightly used from another member and I love it.

It has it's own quad tips. The inner pair are larger than the outer pair. Here are some pics installed:

Thanks John. It was good meeting you at the get together. I know some power junkie will jump on your Fabspeed setup.

It is based on a 9ff design but with different cats and mufflers. Still being constructed though.
