2005 Arnage valve tapping ?

My brother recently picked up a 2005 Aranage (5k miles) and thinks he is hearing some valve tapping. He brought it to the dealer who changed the oil and says that the sound is normal.

Anyone have any info ? Do Arnage's generally have some valve tapping ?

TIA

It's not the valve tapping. It's the lifter.

Lifters will get noisey when oil has not been changed very often. You stated 5,000 miles. is this the first time the oil has been changed or was that the interval since the last change?

You might have the oil changed again after 1,000 miles and have it replaced with a Redline synthetic suitable for the vehicle specs.

You might try a 5W-40.

Oil changes are cheap insurance.
