Does the Bentley GT have a competitor?
bentley all the way. before i bought the bentley i was seriously considering the 612 as well. the maser and the cl imo arent at the same level as a bentley and the 612.
:-) whichever car you choose, you cant go wrong. lol

I would have to agree with most and say the Mercedes-Benz CL line (CL63, CL600, CL65) its its closest competitor. It's the only one comparable in size and comfort, IMO, although some say they're not in the same league. However, those were the only other cars I seriously considered before I decided to go with the Bentley as I was not looking for a sports car, but a luxury coupe.
If you're looking for advanced gadgets/electronics you're better off getting a Lexus or Infiniti, not a Benz.
What did it for me is the attention to detail and the quality of the interior. It simply cannot be faulted. Everything you touch and see is of the utmost quality.

I couldn't disagree more...yes the electronics are way more advanced on the CL but to me in every other way the Bentley crushes the MB...now you want to talk about ubiquitous...MB is it in every way.
The CL 65 is a better car in almost every way.
The Bentley is a nice car, but it is hardly breakthrough technology, and its image is so bourgeousie... there are so many in my neighborhood that it has no real cachet anymore. Compared to the Arnage, Azure, Brooklands, and now the Mulsanne, the Continental GT is so... aspirational. Like you're trying so hard to look wealthy. Problem is, they made too many to make it stand out.

Yes, you're right I can't afford a Continental GT so that's why I am a hater. I really get resentful and envious when a Bentley CGT pulls up next to my 997 GT2 or Ruf RTurbo or if I'm slumming it, my piece of junk S65. I get so mad that I can't buy or lease a Bentley that I do a crazy burnout and waste thousands of dollars of Michelin Pilot Sport 2 and Pilot Sport Cup rubber, hoping that the fumes will bypass the charcoal filtration system in the Bentley and suffocate the obviously superior driver!!!
I actually owned a Continental GT back in 2004 for about 3 months. It was an OK car. But then I got to drive my neighbor's Arnage T24, and that car reminded me of the true Bentley ethos, not the Volkswagen one. To each his own.
This is not to take away from the Bentley's build quality or performance, but it really is quite aspirational! The beauty of driving a CL 65 is the fact that it does look like every other Benz, so you can be low key while driving one of the finest engineered cars in the world with superior performance and build quality to the Bentley. You see, when you truly do have money and feel secure with yourself, you don't need to announce to others how wealthy you are.
One day when you get rich enough that you don't need others' validation to feel that "you've arrived" perhaps you might want to try a REAL Bentley, like a Brooklands or an Arnage T... or get on the list for the Mulsanne.
You are obviously not like me. See, I'd rather have a 275 GTB/4 over an Enzo, a 959 over a Carrera GT, or an Alfa 8C over a Rolls Phantom Coupe or a GT3-RS over a Gallardo.
I bet you are a bling Rolex or Audemars Royal Oak Offshore kind of guy. Me, I just like the simple things, like a Patek Chronograph.

997 GT2 is not a simple thing

You must be a really old guy
, never even heard of some of those cars!!! Maybe you just really like old boring cars, to each his own. I'm single and 31 and like the Bentley GT, and the Murcielago, and the RangeRover(autobiography), and the Ford F550 Diesel(big boy), and the Toyota Prius
Chicks dig it! Yes i have them all, not looking for "validation" or anything but money aint the issue. To say i bought the GT, which you also bought, to look wealthy is silly. I bought the Lambo for that
!! No really, the S65 is boring as hell!! Porsce (or aka PUS*Y in TX) is also boring as hell!! GT2 you bought because the regular 911 997 947 887 whatever the hell wasn't enough
. Porsche model #s don't even make sense to me.
They keep making the same car with a different #, hehe! Just joking men, it's all good. BTW i wear a Swatch. Digital... hehe I'm so funny!!
