Why Bentley?
Yes, i can understand and had a 2008 Ford F250 Superduty, which did double duty pulling out trees, off-roading, and normal driving plus of course towing the 21' enclosed trailer with the F2000 race car. Winter is did pretty good even with 600 to 700 lbs in the bed and stock 'all terrain' tires. It was ok and worked pretty well, yet lived at a home atop our mountain and it had troubles at times. The heart of the problems was the ABS system as it would go into, how shall i describe it, 'convulsion mode' when sliding backwards. Seems the F250 did not like being 'worked' going up a steep slippery hill and when the grip finally let loose and the truck was going backwards (still in Forward Drive on the tranny) the ABS would go wonky and fully lock up and NEVER give me ANY choice of control even with the brake pedal off.
The '06 CGT with Blizzak LM60 seems to have no such gremlins and, frankly, has far better bite and grip than the F250 did. Of course i tend to REALLY 'test out' cars beyond what any normal (?or rational?) person ever would. Seriously, get a set of LM60 and try it for yourself and get ready to be amazed.
Ok call me chicken ****. I'll let the Ford F250 Super Duty do ditch duty before I'll let the Bentley even see ice and snow.
Just for learning however tell what LM 60's are. Better be like a tank track system.
I actually saw a 4x4 van with rubber tracks at a used car dealer in Knoxville.

Thanks for the read. Do you change your tires out for the winter months or run them all year? What kind of milage do you get out of them?
Hope we are not off topic on this thread sorry all, now back to cleaning issues.

Have two sets of rims with tires mounted (and TPS of course). The three-piece Bentley 19" stock (like the Mulliner 20's) for summer P Zero and the other set is the Bentley chrome 5-star single piece for winter with the LM60s. Am not a fan of chrome rims normally, yet winter means sand/salt and that can be a bit corrosive plus sand/salt gets into screws, nooks, etc of multi-piece rims.
As for mileage, gas mileage is about the same and if you mean tire wear i am guessing will get around 18k miles on the P Zeros and just about forever on the LM60 as they have huge tread depth and see far less 'tire scrubbing' while driving... so after 5 years the LM60 will be retired due to rubber age rather than wear.
I see many CGT's around my area and flying spurs. I would love to own one but always think that I look too young for one. Everyone I see driving them around here are either old gray haired men or hot blonde MILF's . I am 38 but usually mistaken for being in my 20's. I like the idea of the bentley and all the attributes you guys mention about it. The main thing holding me back is the unwanted attention it would bring. Am I wrong for thinking that?
Bentley makes great DD since they kind of blend in, are easy to drive and can take the miles.
CGT is an entry level Bentley that IMO is perfect for those looking for a fine driving experience with modern hardware. Its VW underpinning is more humble but modern.
I will add one as a DD next year hopefully. Driving a Gallardo is better suited for weekends.

If you get the drop top you'll be perfect in place with the young crowd. The Bentley does not 'stand out' (or shout) like a Ferrari , Lambo, Spyker, etc. and this i see as a good thing. Getting back to the age thing, women young and not so young appreciate the car (and, humbly said, the driver VVBG).
100% agree and it is very reliable and inexpensive to keep going. Am tired of 'street exotics' that cost you $3k/yr just to keep 'alive' and that can't be driven in the snow. Perhaps with age comes wisdom?

As I drive around I see more young people admiring the car than any other group. I asked my seventeen y/o daughter what's zup wid dat?
She says that all those that watch the show Cribs know what they are and like them.
On another thread I mentioned the fact that expensive cars can not be had by a lot of young people. In some cases it takes a man years to be in the financial position to buy the car he really wants for himself.
If you are blessed to be in the position to buy the car then the main question to ask is, do you like it? This car is class, elegance and performance in a smooth package, age be forgotten.

Very well put.
Another concern is that a few have brought up the technology (Nav,bluetooth, ipod) of the car is not that good in pre 07' models and still not really that great till 12'. I really enjoy these amenities and would really expect them on a car at this level.
Can anyone explain what the 07 models have over the older ones. And what do the 07 and newer models lack compared to other luxury makers.

Oh did I mention that this is an old geezer car we don't know how to use all those new electronic gadgets.
Sorry could not resist the poor humor.

Damn you guys and this forum for putting ideas in my head. If I trade my CTT for a Bently CGT, that would be the third car change in less than a year for me. My wife has been tolerant enough of this car stuff, I dont know if I can pull this off with her.
Wont do anything for awhile but I would have to be able to unload the CTT without losing which is not likely.
Hopefully this feeling will pass like many other urges.
But this forum has influenced me to spend a lot more money than I would of.

Well if I knew I had that much influence on your wallet I would have had you cut me a check.
Have you drove the GTC? I was going to wait a year before the purchase of a car but after driving this car all my resolve went into the toilet.
I post on a cigar board also and Lord they have cost me the coin.
