Rolls Royce Owners Club

I noticed that the Rolls Royce Owners Club is hosting its annal meet in San Antonio next April 8-13. San Antonio is relatively close to Houston so I decided to join. The cost is $100 for the 1st year and $70 thereafter. The spouse option is $10 per year.

It appears that although the name, Bentley, does not appear in the name of the organization, it does cater to Bentley owners as well. Here is what their membership confirmation stated:
"Welcome to the RROC, the International Club for Rolls-Royce and Bentley owners and enthusiasts. The purpose of our club is to provide information and support to members who own Rolls-Royce or Bentley motorcars. Our aim is to make the experience of owning these motorcars more enjoyable. We have thousands of members who share your passion for the hobby and are supported by a friendly staff at our Headquarters office in Mechanicsburg, PA. A Welcome Package with valuable Club information will be sent to you shortly. We encourage you to be active in your local region and to consider joining one or more other regions and/or societies. If you have any questions about your membership, please call RROC Staff at (800)879-7762 or (717)697-4671. We are delighted to have you as a new member! Please begin to enjoy and use your member benefits as soon as possible."

I just wondered if anyone had any words of wisdom regarding this club. And if any of the members of 6 speed planned to attend or would be interested in attending. I know I would be delighted to buy the 1st round.

If they had an event close by I might a attend. What do you get for your $100? I would be some concerned that the club sponsors stand to gain more than the members????? I am a cynic.

Just starting with RROC. I did get a packet of stuff with a directory by state, the Flying Lady Magazine and a brochure about the San Antonio meet - it is beautifully done. The reason I joined is because the meet is close by. I guess I will find out.

There is a forum that I have not done much with. I noticed that the thread for "Modern Bentleys" is from 1980 and up. Not very modern. It may be for the older cars, but we shall see.

Wedgeduck is infamous around these parts
I wonder if they have a Bentley owners club out here. I should look into it. It's fun to check out all the neat toys from their different exteriors and interiors. I love all the different hides, woods, carbon fiber and stitching that goes into these vehicles.

If you find something Wedgy, let me know.

I was told by my Bentley salesman that the Bentley owners are quite active in RROC. Also, did you notice that their purpose, stated above, said: "The purpose of our club is to provide information and support to members who own Rolls-Royce or Bentley motorcars."
