How Cold do You Go....
.....on your summer tires? I just got new tires and you all have heard way to much about that already but after more research find that even cold and dry can be hazardous. I fully understand no snow and ice but dry and cold?
From I have read the tire rubber actually becomes hard and plastic like when it gets to cold and that can be around 40 degrees.
I was planning on driving friday and it is forecast to be 32 degrees first thing in the morning. No sport driving for sure but I believe I can make it down the road to Knoxville.

While I don't have a Bentley, I have used summer tires on a heavy AWD car. I drove on them all year long (even when Fayetteville was covered in ice for two days). AWD is amazing.
Anyway, I've since switched to all-seasons, and have no intentions of switching to winter tires.
Also - I've tracked summer tires in practically freezing rain (Feb at VIR). While it does make for an exciting event, I never felt really out of control.
If you're in Knoxville, you're not too far from me, I'm not making any changes, and I've daily driven my car for 4 years like it sits. We get snow maybe once every other year, but as long as the front lip clears it, the car is good.
That being said - not AWD systems are created equal, so my perspective may not be valid at all.

Thanks guys and jaspergtr your perspective is valid. I will limit my driving to above freezing, only in the dry, and drive like an ole lady.
I'll take the 4wd truck if I need to.
ps i'd like to drive a GTR someday, heck of a car for a good price.

Man you should just get a sled and some dogs.
Brrr-rrr-rrr.... Ain't even close. I love the look of snow but it causes so much problem with business and $ flow for me. These mountains of East TN are not doable with much frozen stuff on them. We get ice on roads and I do not believe there are any tires up to that.
Well except those ice stud things.

Whoa! Some 18" wheels with BF Goodrich AT KOs, raise the vehicle level up, and Hello!
This is why I love this forum. We actually own these babies and drive the crap out of them.
