I could have had a V8
Because we are a well-mixed bunch, perhaps some don't "get" the title of this post, apart from the literal meaning: "I coulda had a V8" is a catch-phrase of a vegetable juice drink that's sold in America and has been in TV commercials since the early '70s.
Ah, the subtlety of GR strikes again. I wish I was part of the in-crowd.
In the northern hemisphere they polish anti-clockwise, in southern parts it's clockwise. Otherwise we're very similar.
My dental hygienist had a party trick which she insisted on playing on me every 6 months until after several appointments she remembered that she'd already said it.
She would say, after inspecting my chompers, so you're a right hander. The first time I replied tentatively in the affirmative (that means yes in plainspeak), and she proceeded to tell me that she could tell by the way my teeth presented. Stains on the left I guess.
I should have fooled her by saying I wasn't, but I'm too kind.

Here's a Jalopnik review of the 2012 CGT W12:

W12 Gas Mileage
I just went round trip between suburban Washigton, DC and New York City. I was happily surprised to see I got 21.9 mpg on the mostly highway drive.

When I started my research, I drove both the V8 and W12 to get the feel of each.
Coming from a DB9, I have a natural bias toward 12 cylinders, and averaged a combined 19mpg in my five years with the DB9.
It’s not anything specific, but the W12 just felt better on each test drive. Once I decided on the W12, I searched for a Speed version with the lowest miles and best condition I could find.
Very happy so far with my 2016 GT Speed

I made fun of some rude guy's car on here based on the number of cylinders and the paint color and he got so worked up, Johnny had to delete the thread, LOL.
Guys take their choices personally I guess.
I love my 12 cylinders but I have to admit that I am getting a bit tired of watching the gas gauge go down 1/8 of a tank on a quick run to the airport. I rented a car in NYC, a full-sized Hyundai, it was super-nice, and I only used one tank to travel almost 500 miles. I have a rental car right now for four days so far and the gas gauge hasn't budged off of "F".
One time I had to give some guys a ride home and I was headed toward "E", I had to stop in a sketchy-*** gas station with a group of guys "hanging out" eyeballing me and my blue Bentley, that was one time I was flat-out tired of the gas mileage, I did not want to get jacked by bored young men pissed off by where life had placed us economically.
I've always liked the V12s, the Jags, both the XKEs and the XJS, the Lamborghinis, it just is cool and unusual. There is no way to justify it, the original poster called $8k "beer money", yeah, not really
. But I do love that engine.
My car is becoming a bit of a maintenance hog; I suspect I'm going to switch to the new Ferrari Roma when I can buy one off lease, depending on whether it is too tiny. I've gotten used to having a little elbow room, my old exotic wouldn't suit me now, my wife wouldn't want to climb in and out of it.

My 2013 Bentley GTC W12 city gas mileage is dreadful. But I have to say the turnpike driving was terrific. The only down side
was the sheer weight of car required some getting used to on curves. As a "weekend" driver I can live with the lousy city mpg.
