New Bentley Arnage

I am a new owner of a 2001 Bentley Arnage.

I am handy with cars and am not afraid to get my hands dirty. My question is do i need any special tools or computers to work on the car? I have always been told this, but if i can do the work my self i would like to.

Welcome Flasher. I am no mechanic so can be of any real help but did want to extend a welcome. I do expect there to be some computer code readings but not any more "special" than any other car.

DIY work

I have a 2003 Arnage T and have owned 3 other Bentleys as well as many Ferraris , Mercedes , BMW's , Masrerati and the list goes on .

I work on them all with no problem. These are just cars . To be sure the more modern have computers and a myriad of sensors but a cheap OBDC reader will give you most of the info your computer saves . Its just nuts and bolts and patience . Anyone with basic knowledge of systems , torques and how the computer adjusts based on sensor input can diagnose and repair for a FRACTION of what the dealer charges .

For example on my Arnage T the dealer quoted $2,200 for front ball joints . I sourced the parts and did the job in a few hours for $160.

yes most generic code readers will handle the engine management but for auto ride you may need to have code checked, you can by a bentley scan tool and it runs about $3000,it does all the systems but needs to be regular updated.
