'05 gt

Hi all - been lurking here awhile, first post. Have always loved the GT but hadn't test driven one. Was just in Miami and took out a beautiful silver '05 with red leather and was amazed. I'm a BMW guy normally, but have never driven such a powerful car. My plan has been to wait a year or two when the '08s drop into the 60-70k range cause apparently that's the year to get used. My questions are this car (32k miles, $69k) was awesome, particularly the red leather - is that a relatively rare option (the red)? Also, I know there are issues with the electronics but are there options to add iphone/bluetooth to the head unit without a major overhaul? I'm considering selling the bimmers and getting this. thanks in advance!

They sold a lot of Magnolia interiors and a lot of Beluga but very few red so if it really speaks to you, go for it! At least you won't see yourself coming and going.

I have an 05 in Naples 100 miles North of Miami, I am very happy with it. Since buying it I have noticed that it has glass which blocks UV light, but also hand help GPS and cell phone signals and probably radar detectors too.
The seat rails lack the metal covers that later models have.
Make sure that the tire pressure monitor works and that the dip stick hasn't lost its plastic tip. You will have an expensive service at 40,000

I am a believer that the "right " GT will get under your skin and not let you go. I was going to wait longer and by a lesser car but when I saw and drove my 07 GTC I was afraid to not buy it possible regretting a missed opportunity. Yes there are other cars but if you find one that really gets to you why risk letting it go. In you case you could get this one for two years and still go for the 08 on a trade in.

In retrospect I have seen the dealer get in five or six GT's since I bought mine and none have suited me as well. The dealer says they think it is the nicest one they have ever handled. I agree but not convinced they are not just blowing smoke up my ****.
