Just got my PPI - Yay or Nay?

Hi,

I just received the report for a 05 CGT PPI. Here are the findings:

-Front Brake=5mm, Rear Break=2mm, Rotors(4) are rusted and might be unrefaceble.
-Winter tire 9/32
-Hood latch Micro Switch Broken (Hood remains open in the cluster).
-Back seat armrest broken
-Starter Battery door lock missing
-TPMS system doesn't work
-Needs Air Filters, Pollen Filters and an engine oil change
-Front bumper damaged
-Rear left mag scratched (kerb)
-Rear bumper paint scratched
-Driver's door window chipped

How severe are these damages? How much will it cost to fix them?

Sounds like a car that needs a good refresh, but nothing seriously wrong with her per se. If I may ask, why a 2005 when we all know 2006 onward they really fixed a lot of little things like the better TPMS system, etc. You should take it to a dealer and ask them about your list, they can tell you current pricing to correct.

tpms is a pain in all cars, i always disable tpms in every car I own.
I usually just make a tpms canister to disable them if i cant do it thru the computer.

I personally hate when anything is broken on my car. Be it a sensor light on, loose headliner, yearly service due, little plastic trim pieces coming off, door dings, etc. I always get my routine services done, and never procrastinate on little things that arise. That's just me although my fellow car enthusiasts are similar. I would probably pass and look for a car with a little more t.l.c.

Thanks all. I put a deposit down on the car with the condition of new front and rear brakes.

Here are few more things I want to do to refresh the car:

1. A new set of wheels for summer. How much is a set of OEM wheels? 19/20 will be fine. I don't want the chrome wheel. I prefer the classy look.

Factory 19" rims used go for about $1000, check Tire Rack for Pirelli Bentley spec'ed tire prices but I think they are around $350 each. BTW, I picked up a set of chrome 5-star Bentley rims for $800 a set 2 years ago. If you are patience you can find deals on eBay.
