How to replace rear console sliding cover

A friendly rear seat passnger put his foot on the sliding cover of the rear console whilst disembarking.
Rear passenger won and the sliding cover snapped breaking in 1/2.

I bought a new one, but can't easily see how to insert the new cover.

Any helpers ?

Thanks

Are you referring to the "roll-top" sliding cover in the rear console? (wood veneer over numbered aluminum rails glued to a membrane) If so, you have to remove the rear console and the sliding cover is inserted into a track that is accessible from underneath the console. There are "stop" hinges on the bottom of the track to prevent it from falling off the end. The front of the slider has a magnet to hold the slider closed. PM me if you want the instructions on how to remove the rear console.
