I have had three 4.2 XJR's and they are a fantastic car. Sports car performance and 5 seats too. Oh, and over 30 MPG on a run. Best I got was 34.6 after fitting a sports exhaust.
My last one would do 0-60 in 4.667 seconds. Quick by any means.
Here's a couple of photo's for you.
I like the interior of the new ones but I can't make up my mind about the exterior design.
all in all my global feeling is that the TATA group did remarkable technological improvements in both the Jag and the Range Rover but in so doing both cars have lost part of their identity.
When do become accustomed to a body style and grow fond of it accepting change as goos is difficult. Many of us owners of the older style GT's don't car for the new bodies so much. Seems like a sort of selling out to the pressure of new is better and any change is good.
As it happens, in the UK, prices are now going up for second hand 4.2 XJR's. They are quite a rare car and the last of the traditional Jag' shape, so no surprise really.
yes, you're right the name of the game today is ''changes are beautiful''.
after thinking twice about it, I have to have a conversation with my wife...
Oh certainly you are not that stupid? About the wife conversation to be clear. While you are at it take her to a plastic surgeon, strip her down and go over with a fine comb all the corrections needed. I bet I see your obituary soon.
