Trunk Open Alert Error On Center Dash

Am intermittent problem on the 2007 GTC had begun. On the driver's center display below 27-ish mph it intermittently says the trunk lid is open, when in fact it is closed. The alert disappears once the car is moving over that speed. Is there a procedure I can do that can solve this myself? Thanks as ALL help is ALWAYS appreciated.

Thanks! Yes, in the 06 GT the front hood latch did suffer the same type of error (and we fixed that).

GTC has another switch at the top of the boot lid closest to the tonneau cover. Seen a bunch of them out of adjustment. Will signal boot lid is open and if you press down on the lid it will go away. To adjust this start with the top in the fully down position. Then start to close the top. When the tonneau is open (before the top starts to raise) let go of the button. Climb in the back seat you will see the switch. Loosen the 2 t30 screws push the switch assembly down and tighten then retest.

Thanks and did try that, yet with the trunk open and the light was still on. Maybe there are two switches (one in lock mechanism and another one on trunk as you mentioned and they both need to signal closed? I did press down on that section of the trunk when closed and the error was still there

Will adjust the two T30 screws as they are easy-to-reach that switch and see if that fixes it, thanks as ALL help is ALWAYS appreciated. It is an intermittent thing so when adjusting the switch I may run a continuity test to see of that switch is going bad. Maybe give it a spray of Caig Labs contact cleaner too.
