Wheel Alignment

Hi All,

Had some questions relating to wheel alignment.

1) IS it recommended to go to an independent specialist for wheel alignment or should only go to a dealer. My dealer says that it is quite complicated and take 4 hours and would cost around £750.00.

2) Has anyone used independents like Kwik Fit in UK for a Continental SS wheel alignment ?

Thnx

What year SS? I'd think any Indie or VW dealer could do it if your SS is Phaeton-based like early models.

It has to be 4 hours otherwise how can dealer charge you 750 pounds.

I got mine done at indy for 120 vs dealer 500 but they found out my lower wishbones were worn so replaced before alignment.

I used to use a place in Reading, Berkshire called Elite wheels and tyres. They have a 4 wheel Laser rig and do a great job. Probably takes around half an hour or so.

An local indy has quoted me something around 120-150.. just a little skeptical on whether they have the necessary equipment.

Any recommendations around Bromley/Kent in South west London area ?
