I recently installed a subwoofer and amp into my Flying Spur, we kept everything else factory. We used a Mosconi high low converter and got the signal from the factory amp in the trunk. I believe the installer took the signal from the front door speakers since majority of the bass comes through those speakers.

The issue that we are having is that we cannot get the full range for the bass, a lot of songs don't even hit.

Should we be getting the signal from elsewhere? Or is there another solution?

Any help is appreciated.

you beleive - or you are installer? ))) result correctly matched to described work. if you paid money for this - take them back or fight for normal result.

I think he well know what he done. signal should be taken from amp input, instead of taking it from filter-cutted output with hi-lo converter.

 

Actually. Your Bentley uses a amp/crossover combination. You'll need to install a signal summing device like the audio control dq61 so you can sum your mid and low pass signals together then transmit them into an amplifier. Each door speaker in the front and rear has a preset crossover setting (low mid high) So if your tied into the midrange driver you won't get any low frequencies. If your tied into the woofer in the door you won't get any mid bass frequencies. You need some sort of signal summing device. Like I said the dq-61 or the Jl audio clean sweep. You may wanna try finding an installer that's more familiar with your car. F'in up that factory amp is a expensive venture. An unfamiliar installer may try to just tie the mid and low channel together and tho it will work short term it will ruin the factory amp.
