Strange! I drove from Calais to the Mayenne on Wednesday and mine worked just fine.

The explanation could be ULSTRUP has an Infra Red filter windscreen and Les doesn't. I understand Bentley soon stopped fitting these because of problems identified with using tags.

My windscreen is OE manufactured for Bentley by SGS (Saint-Gobain Sekurit). It is most likely an IR reflective coated windscreen because the code 4.......IR is beneath the trade mark at the bottom left hand.

I'll find out if my tag works next weekend.

Graham

Mine is a 2007 so, if they stopped fitting IR filter before the 2004 models I can't have one.
But I believe Graham might be right since I also have the same problem with my gate remote, I can't open the gate and I have to hold the remote control outside to make it work.

looking closer at the picture Les sent I also realized that my pass is different than yours, its one of these new ''mini'' ones, about half the size of the old ones. maybe the signal is less powerful and cannot go through the double panned windscreen ( if the windscreen is double panned like the windows).
I'm going to call the dealer and find out what the problem is.

Eurotunnel to the Spanish border and back a month later - waving the tag out of the window at every peage! Definitely doesn't work through an IR windscreen.

I have ez pass mounted inside my windshield in my 05 continental. It doesn't read when I go thru tolls. Every time message says "toll unpaid, keep going". But since ez pass tag connected to lecense plate, they will automatically match your plate to your tag and will post it to your account without any penalty or additional fees.

I am also an ez pass user with an 06 BCGT.
I am using the zip tie method for mounting my front plate and have the transponder mounted on the front plate. Pic attached for the plate mount but prior to figuring out that the internal transponder did not work.
Search this site for the instructions for the zip tie method.
So far mine is certified for 120 mph.

This is exactly how I have mine mounted. Did everything myself. Get my 05gt to 150 mph quiet often and plate never got loose.

EZ Pass will exchange your windshield pass for an external plate mounted unit.

Les.
Sold my 2005 Continental GT at the start of the pandemic but I'm back with a 2012 Continental GT. Hoping your tag position works on this one and I don't end up waving it out of the window as I did with the earlier model. Off through France and Spain next week and will be using both Sanef and ViaT toll tags.
