Having the vacuum hose fixed--what else while they're at it? '09 Flying Spur
 

Hi all:

I have a 2009 Flying Spur with 61,000 miles. Had a check engine light, so took it to Bentley. They discovered a (or should i say, 'THE' dreaded) bad vacuum hose, and currently have the engine apart while the parts come in.

Is there anything else i should have Bentley replace while they have the engine out? I only have 60k miles, but thought it might be prudent to ask you guys if there are any other 'known' parts that might fail in the engine area--to save on labor costs-- if they're going to fail soon anyways in the future.

Can you think of anything? Maybe spark plugs, belts, or other 'hard to reach' components or sensors? If i'm paying upwards of $4,000, most of it labor costs, i might sleep at night knowing i've basically a new engine!

Exhaust gas temp sensors- those are a PITA to do in the car, easy with engine out. The coolant head (set of lines in the front of the motor) are worth doing. Other than that, anything that looks questionable.

i think starter is " buried" in the engine

Great suggestions above, and may as well have them check the suspension bushings.

GREAT!! Which of everything mentioned above is in the "replace" category and which are in the "check and replace only if" category?

any thoughts to what i should ask them to outright replace vs "check" ?

....what has your experience been since major job...what bits did you refresh...what was final bill...any followup visits to correct...JimB
