Thanks for trying. The car does 2000 miles per year, so it just doesn't make sense to get an oil change every year!

I give mine an oil & filter change no matter what every spring, do that to all the cars driven or not ...

The oil should be changed annually because the oil's additive package deteriorates over time and gets further used up holding contaminants in suspension. This is not related to engine operation (mileage) just time.

Reflect a moment on residuals and wear the future buyers hat combing through the history file , what are your expectations , what do ideally need to see ?

Ricos got it .

Some topics just beg to be arguments on chat sites and are full of "expert" opinion (a genuine oxymoron). This is especially true on any topic of oil where few of the internet "experts" are actually petroleum engineers, chemists, or automotive engine designers. Most of the time, the so called experts are citing tradition - "This is what my dad did with his 1953 Buick, so it's what I do too...for ever and ever....

I've learned to rely on the real experts on topics where my own real education and knowledge is lacking. Most automotive engineers including Bentley now build in automatic electronic "reminders" right into the car (called service intervals). It is based on hours and hours of REAL engineering research. I follow that and take the internet experts with a grain of salt along with a little chuckle. In the almost 2 years' ownership of this car, and numerous years with others, these service interval reminders are accurate and engineered to be what the engine really needs. They mostly all use a time element combined with a mileage formula and, if you pay attention to them, you'll notice that they will come out to about a year or sooner between change intervals even if the car is hardly used. With Bentley, every service interval in the service manual includes a "Service A" category, and Service A starts with an oil and filter change....Step 1.

My car gets very little use, probably the same as quoted herein, yet my Service light has come on twice, both almost to the month - April.
