Hi eveyone, just thought I would introduce myself. I just bought a 2005 Continental GT. Umbrian Red with Tan interior, and 74,000km This is the first view I got of the car.
I test drove Jaguar XKrs, Aston Martin DB9s and then the Bentley, and after an hour long test drive I bought it. My wife an I were so impressed by the car, we had to stop and go through a long checklist to find all the faults. Compared to the state of the other cars we test drove, this one was in perfect condition. We found a few marks on the leather, and a couple of stone chips.
It has the a full service history, recently had new disc and pads all around. It needs a new set of tyres ( three of them are from 2012/13 and the wheels have some gutter rash. I was thinking of changing the wheels to a set of 20s. I have a Ben-Hur upgrade on order, and will probably go with the Kenwood head unit, and a new Start/Stop button as the one I have is a bit worn. I will be doing most of the work myself, I have a two post hoist on order for my garage. I already have the Ross Tech VAGCom, left over from my various Audis I have owned. I have not connected it yet, just busy with other things at the moment. I have read many of the threads from start to end, so much great information here. I have a Volvo C70 convertible ( the Dynaudio sound system is incredible) and Land Rover Discovery, but I just love driving the Bentley, even down to the hardware store.
I have fair amount of DIY experience on cars and trucks. This was my last project - an Mercedes Benz Unimog which I converted to an camper truck. .
Thanks, still learning things about my car, today I found out that I have 20" wheels with 275/40R20 tyres, not the 19" wheels as per the manual. They seem to be an option on the 2012 GTC from what I can tell. As you can see, they need a bit of refurbishing. I was thinking of gloss black instead of the silver. Tyre wise I am going with the Michelin Pilots 4S.

A very simple repair, I've caught mine a couple of times and can have them like new in 20 minutes. As far as colour goes, its a personal preference, some people love black while others may hate it... so go with what YOU like and bear in mind you could even go bigger wheels, I have 21's and love the look. (you're receiving pms now, got mine?)
