Bentley GT 04 Front Suspension

In June 2019, I had the dreaded warning light “Stop! Vehicle too low.” The front suspension was down hiding the top of the tires . . . After much research, I replaced both front struts with EOM pre-owned parts removed from a damaged car with a 6-month warranty . . . The car seems to be generally OK . . . . scroll on the May 2020.

One morning, I returned to the car, and noticed the front end sagging with a reduced clearance to the tired. I ran the car, and all seemed good, however, after a further 24 hours in the garage, the front wheel arches are almost sitting on the tires. No warning light on the dash and the car lifts itself on starting. Once running for 5-10mins, the centre of wheel to wheel arch 375mm vs 395mm on the rear.

The worst case is that the parts lasted longer than the warranty and the only option is to find another pair of struts. It seems odd that both deflate evenly, rather than one side failing.

My local independent garage could not find an air leak on either strut or the accessible air lines.

Any thought on potential failure mechanism? Or investigations to identify the source of the problem?

It may be a stretch but have your level sensors (I think that’s what they are called) check to make sure they are straight and not broke or loose.

hi, I’ve also replaced my passenger front air suspension as well.

It seems like the air suspension on the front sags if left for few days.

But when i unlock the car, it comes back up without any air compressor input. I put my ear by both suspension and can’t seem to hear any hissing leaking sounds. Maybe it’s by design? My ride height setting is on the lowest level.
