I am not saying that you can't, I am saying that it is an unknown if you will have issues installing the 2009 cluster into your 2005, if it were me, I would take the chance on the 2009, But, as I said earlier, the 2010 I installed in the 2006 setup did not function properly, as in, if you turned on either turn signal, the cluster turn signal indicator would only flash once, if you turn on the highbeams the blue indicator would only illuminate for a second, the back lighting on the cluster for parking/driving lights would only illuminate for a few seconds and go dark, everything on the vehicle worked as it should, but the cluster did not, also on the 2005-2007 clusters I have, there is a symbol shape for the rear spoiler, where as the 2010 now illuminates a foot on a brake pedal symbol when the spoiler is in the upright position when the engine is idling in park, if you turned off the key and restarted the engine, everything would just work again for one flash of the indicator lights.

I believe that the issue is the Software versions and supposedly CAN-BUS languages change that some say happened in 2011 for the base GT, but in 2010 for the Supersports, I have not formed my own conclusion on that yet.

I believe that the hardware versions basically applies to all the different variations of KM, MPH, Celsius VS Fahrenheit.

So, you may be fine with the part number that you posted for the 2009 as Instrument gauge wise it all matches your 2005, from what we can see in the picture, as nothing is illuminated.

I say, take the chance, you can always resell for lose or profit.

My one last thought is, being that on your side of the pond, revisions always seem a model year earlier for your side, when did such revisions take place, 2009, 2010, ???

Thanks Johnny that makes sense. I think here the uk the model changed in 2011 if I remember correctly.
