Issues with radio/stereo 2005 CGT

Hi everyone,

Having a new issue with the stereo in my 2005 CGT.

The sound is muffled and weaker than usual?

Source is a galaxy note 10 plus connected via a GROM Bluetooth adapter in place of the CD changer.

I have tried FM radio but this sounds just the same. Already tried disconnecting the batteries to hard reset and also fully charged both overnight.

Any thoughts what I can check?

Many thanks,
Lewis

For anyone looking I figured this one out.
The solder joint on the back of the tweeter in the passenger side a pillar cover was rubbing against the body of the car and grounding out.

A couple of pieces of carefully placed electrical tale have sorted the problem.

Thanks,
Lewis.

Thanks,
Lewis.
Last night my radio unexpectedly went silent. This morning all it is back to normal. We'll have a look at the pillar tweeters for a possible similar issue. Thank you for the heads up.

On a separate note seems like when one problem is fixed another pops up. Just replaced the right side turbo frequency valve most commonly referred to as N75. The Bentley goblins thanked me giving me this new project.🤔

i have been at work and couldn't log in , lol

i had the same issue , mentioned a week or so ago , and it was my door speaker wiring shorting to the frame * broken connector mount), eliminating all the bass , and most of the power, quick fix ( once accessed) and all back to normal and sounding good

well sorted

Hooked up RT vcds, scanned head unit. Optical data bus communication error:00384. Fortunately the radio is at the moment functioning. Only a glitch? Not sure what to do next? Hopefully doesn't go silent again. Usually not the case with a Bentley.

Hello @1eapplebaum ,
I am not sure the year of your Bentley, but any 1st gen would only have one item that functions by way of fiber optics, and that is the NAV disc drive, there is only one pair of fiber optic lines in the vehicle, and this pair only runs between the Infotainment head unit and the NAV drive.

Hello Johnny,

Yes first generation, 2005. Well I don't use the nav system due to obsolescence. Perhaps disconnecting the nav sysyem if the radio problem reoccurs?

Thank you Johnny for the input.
