I use the Prepcision magnetic in all of my vehicles but I haven't brought myself to screw into my GTC yet. Not an endorsement for others but they are awesome for my needs. Here are some pics.
Rule 12b is a Motion to Dismiss if I remember my FRCP?
Having a gun holstered somewhere in the car and visible to a cop that pulls you over might make for a very tense traffic stop....
In my case, if they run my tag they’ll know I’m a permit carrier and likely lawfully armed. It will be the first thing I tell them too. It’s not visible from the window in any event.
Keep in mind that here in Nevada, if you can lawfully own a pistol, you can lawfully have it in your car within reach. Actually anywhere in your car so long as it is not concealed in your person (unless you’ve a permit).
i ve always admired, admire and will admire the level of liberty in US.
compare it to EU regulations where even cucumber must have given parameters and level of bending is critical to measure to have this vegetable named as cucumber.
regarding cars - there in eu as i heard is a regulation how much transparent the windows mist be. you can not be anonymous - everyone must see that you drive the car.
gun? forget. maybe pepper spray - and of somebody will atack you it is better to be fully passive to not be accused you provoced that attack etc - the victim can go to jail.
As the topic starter, I thought I'd fill folks in on where I went with this. Since I asked where to put the gun, I got a lot of pushback that you don't want the car stolen with the gun. Good point. After taking my Concealed Carry class, I realized that this was an intelligent way of looking at this. When I carry, I carry in the small of my back, the Continental seat is completely comfortable this way. I like the magnetic hold too, but seems to be in the way?
I may have written this earlier, but I was in a downtown city not too long after the BLM/racial reckoning/riots/looting and a group of young guys saw my car and strode into traffic to stop me. I had my teenage daughter in the car and I got out of there, making one jump, but luckily there was an open run in front of me, there was no traffic, but if there was I was unarmed and although I doubt something horrible would have happened, there was a non-trivial chance.
I ended up with a Springfield Arms Hellcat, a micro 9mm and a left-hand leather holster that I use way over in the small of my back, right-handed.
But I do like the magnet mount, maybe something to think about.
Speaking of what's driving them: it happens to be a 4.3-liter Toyota V8 in place of the somewhat needy and heavy W12. We don't blame them for ditching the original engine; given the mild top speeds and the focus on low-range power the Ultratank doesn't actually need all that much horsepower. Bulldozers, for example, often get by with much less than what the Toyota V8 churns out.
CWP holder here in FL. My normal carry is a Rohrbaugh R9 Special Forces model...It's a micro 9mm. Very very uncomfortable to shoot but who cares, it's a 7 yards and under defense weapon. Best place I have found whether it's a GT or FS (have both), is the drivers side of the center console. Easiest position to pull from if you are right handed and you can shoot across your body or passenger side fire. Front or back I am using the gas, even in traffic.
Holstered in the Bentley, I have an FNX-9...In my truck, I carry my FNP-45.
Walther PPS with 147 grain hollow points. Always carry on my person, but do have a Hornady Rapid Safe cabled into the boot for storage if I have to leave it in the car. Got excited about the spring loaded pocket until I checked and it is only a feature on the Gen1s.
And will de-escalate just as quickly as soon as Johnny gets in here.
I am on it Boss @GT3 Chuck ,
PM sent, and I will now clean up about 4-5 threads the offender posted in.
Thanks to the member who is wasting my time on this beautiful Sunday.
Since it's not a super-serious thread I'm guessing I won't be too much off-topic by sending off a random question.. The cars listed in your profile signature, are they your other current vehicles aside from the GT, or your previous toys? If you don't mind, would you mind showing some pictures of your other beauties? I grew up in a Jaguar/Daimler family.
