I'm gonna roll the dice. Bank 2 is a lot more labor. I wanna see if replacing the bank 1 sensor even gets rid of the dashboard warning light.

Yes please...an update, if you will. We all have much invested in this thread now, and most of us (haha) want to see you, once again...on solid ground!
The exhaust gas temperature sensor bank 1, showed no external damage, and I had it replaced with a
Bentley branded new sensor. The independent garage did the work and it was a little tricky to remove the
old one, not a lot of space to work and requiring a long angled socket tool, with the socket having an
empty space to allow it to accommodate the cable on the part. The tool is shown nicely in a you
tube video:
The check engine light is gone, and I am hoping bank 2 doesn't go, as I'm told that's even harder to work on.
