Mulliner 20" 7 Spoke Rim Noise = Torque Spec??
Mulliner 20" 7 Spoke Rim Noise = Torque Spec??
I know this subject has been broached before or the 19 in wheels. But here is my story/question.
About a week ago I started hearing a rotational 'scrubbing' sound on my front wheel(s). At first I thought it was a tire bubble. That is what it sounded like. Curiously it only 'rubbed' going forward. I could not find a bubble and it did not click or whine like a CV joint or bearing.
I took the car to an indie who after doing low speed 'donuts' discovered that some of the rim to spoke bolts had loosened and backed out. I guess I had never really thought about these being multi piece wheels.
So he tightened them down but was concerned about what the correct torque for these bolts might be.
Does anyone have any idea?
Were these originally constructed with Locktite or similar?
Just gotta luv the 'eccentricities' of the Bentley.

Hello @dangme55 ,
@PMS stated that his 20" wheels were 18 lbs torque.

I can check tomorrow if IETIS shows anything for the 7 spoke.

Johnny,
Thanks! You really are the best!
Sorry I missed that thread, I am usually pretty good at keyword searches, but missed that one - it has all the info I need. Time to get my torque wrench and Locktite blue out.
