I found the front driver absorber is leaking from the top under the rubber, and wondering if I could fix it or to replace it with Audi A8 4E0616040 if it fits.

Audi A8L front suspension struts are not the same, just look at the pictures of each.

Yes I can see Bentley part not having this black ball, but when checked audi a8 part it shows compatible with phaeton, which shares the same shock with Bentley.
What does this black ball is supposed to do ?
