Brake Squeal - 2013 GT

Anyone else have this issue with their continental and found a way to rectify? Sounds like its front brakes on mine. Have had them stripped down and cleaned, but the issue just came back..

Are you sure it is not the pads getting to end of useful life? the pads have steel elements that create a squeeling sound when contacting the rotor as an autitory way of letting you know the pads are getting thin. The pad wear sensors on the Bentley is famous for not sending an error message to the system.

Alternatively you can try using the standard pad bed in procedure to remove any glazing on the pads that can cause squeeling.

Accelerate the car (on a straight empty road) to 60 mph, then apply the brakes vigorously without engaging anti-lock - until the car comes to near zero speed. repeat this exactly for 5-6 more cycles.

Then drive the car are higher speed without using the brakes in order to cool the rotors. Be aware that after the 6 cycles the brakes will experience extreme fade until they cool down, so you must do this on a road that does not encounter other vehicles.

Thanks for this. I had the brakes looked at by a specialist and they were happy with the overall pad thickness etc, but I'll do another visual check to confirm.

Cheers for that information on bedding in. I hadn't heard that before. I think I know somewhere local where I can try the procedure. Will report back!
